Taiwan Tech ranks third nationwide in University Presidents’ Performance Evaluation
Cheers Magazine, under Commonwealth Learning, has conducted its “University Performance Peer Review Survey” since 2015. Each year, university presidents across Taiwan are invited to evaluate and identify institutions with outstanding performance. Taiwan Tech rose from sixth place nationwide in 2025 to third place this year.

Cheers Magazine conducted the “University Performance Peer Review Survey”, in which Taiwan Tech ranked third nationwide this year.
A total of 110 higher education institutions participated this year, with 17 universities receiving recognition - an inclusion rate of only 15%. To be listed, a university had to receive at least five peer nominations. National Cheng Kung University ranked first, followed by National Taiwan University in second place.
Reasons for recommending Taiwan Tech include: first, its leadership in technological and vocational education, consistently ranking at the top of Taiwan’s technical university system and serving as a benchmark institution; second, its strong industry–academia connections, with practice-oriented teaching and close alignment between internships, employment, and industry needs; and third, its competitiveness in engineering and technology, particularly its rapid development in AI and smart manufacturing, giving students a strong advantage in the job market.
The survey also found that university presidents believe the top three essential competencies for future graduates are: (1) self-directed learning ability and adaptability, (2) proficiency in AI and digital tools, and (3) problem-solving skills. This highlights that in a rapidly changing era, the ability to “learn continuously and adapt quickly” is more important than “what one studies at the beginning.” Students at Taiwan Tech embody these qualities and are highly valued by employers. In Global Views Monthly’s “2026 Most Favored University Graduates by Enterprises” survey, Taiwan Tech ranked first among technological universities nationwide.
This peer review survey distributed questionnaires to presidents of 134 higher education institutions in Taiwan (excluding junior colleges), asking each to recommend up to three universities that have shown significant improvement or growth in recent years. A total of 99 presidents nominated between one and three institutions each.
