Taiwan Tech hosts first “International Partner Days” to strengthen global collaboration.

The Office of International Affairs at Taiwan Tech held its “International Partner Days” from October 28 to 30, 2025. Coinciding with Taiwan Tech’s 50th anniversary, the event focused on linking Taiwan’s higher education with high-tech industry development and marked the first time overseas partner university administrators were invited for on-campus exchange visits. The visiting delegation included twelve administrative staff from partner universities in six countries: Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, Lithuania, and Switzerland. In addition to exchanging experiences in higher education administration and sharing inter-university collaboration practices, the program included site visits highlighting industry-academia partnerships. These activities allowed participants to gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan Tech’s achievements and distinctive strengths in internationalization and technology talent development.

During the subsequent sharing sessions, Professor Ying-Jung Yeh, Vice President for International Affairs, presented Taiwan Tech’s recent achievements in international collaboration and academic exchange. She highlighted that in promoting the cultivation of talent in science, technology, and semiconductors, Taiwan Tech has become a key hub within the global partner network. Senior Program Coordinator Wei-Hua Lin from the Office of International Affairs drew on her extensive administrative experience to share how campus activities that combine inclusivity and innovation can foster interaction and integration between international and local students, embodying Taiwan Tech’s internationalization philosophy of “from cultural activities to community co-creation.”

In addition, Professor Po-Chien Hsiao from the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering shared his experiences implementing University Social Responsibility (USR) projects in rural Nepal, demonstrating Taiwan Tech’s commitment and achievements in international community engagement, while emphasizing the importance of balancing STEM education with humanitarian concern.

During the event, Taiwan Tech also hosted a University Showcase, providing overseas partner university administrators with face-to-face interactions with Taiwan Tech students, allowing participants to present their schools’ distinctive features and exchange opportunities, thereby promoting student mobility and cross-cultural understanding.

As part of the visit, the overseas delegates toured BenQ Corporation, personally received by Mr. Jeffrey Liang, General Manager of the Asia region. The company team introduced their globally leading display panel technologies and e-sports products in a professional and engaging manner, showcasing Taiwan’s technological innovation. The delegation then visited the “University Alliance in Talent Education Development  (UaiTED)” under the Sayling Wen Cultural and Education Foundation, where they were warmly hosted and gained in-depth insights into Taiwan’s efforts and achievements in the cyclical development of technology and education.

The “International Partner Days” not only allowed overseas partners to gain a comprehensive understanding of Taiwan Tech’s campus features and industry linkages, but also strengthened administrative collaboration and partnerships, laying a solid foundation for future international networks. The event fully demonstrated Taiwan Tech’s core philosophy of “using administration to support internationalization.”
