President Jia-Yush Yen and Hsiang-Yu Chen, CEO of Solarix System and Ph.D. alumnus of the Department of Industrial Management, jointly conducted the “Taiwan Tech Carbon Inventory System Donation Ceremony.” The carbon inventory management system was the result of industry-academia collaboration between Director Tsai-Chi Kuo of the Center for Sustainability and Institutional Research (also Chair of the Department of Industrial Management) and Solarix System. The system was developed and structured by Solarix System, with Taiwan Tech contributing its expertise in carbon inventory knowledge and advisory support, and Ixon Technology Co., ltd offering environmental data application and industry insights.

This donation from an alumni-led enterprise highlights strong support for Taiwan Tech’s net-zero and sustainability initiatives. The university will apply the system for internal carbon inventory and management, marking a significant milestone in its dual transformation toward “Sustainability + Digitalization”.

President Jia-Yush Yen emphasized that Taiwan Tech will continue to collaborate with industry, government, and academia to cultivate sustainability talent, implement carbon management, and build a strong foundation for a net-zero future through technology and innovation. Tsai-Chi Kuo, Director of the Center for Sustainability and Institutional Research, further noted that in the face of global climate change and the challenges of achieving net-zero emissions, artificial intelligence is not only a tool for technological innovation but also an effective means of analyzing carbon emission data through big data and algorithmic techniques. A robust carbon management system, he said, can help organizations and companies quickly conduct carbon inventories and make real-time, data-driven decisions to effectively reduce emissions.

The forum also featured three compelling keynote sessions on sustainability, covering topics such as sustainability trends, digital empowerment, and net-zero case studies. Solarix System managers Jia-Rong Lai and Wei-Yao Chen presented real-world analyses and demonstrated how carbon management design can be restructured from the ground up. Chin-Te Wu from Formosa Advanced Technologies Co., Ltd. shared practical insights into carbon management in the semiconductor industry.

In addition to showcasing the Solarix System, the event also invited Ixon Technology Co., Ltd. - known for its work in environmental databases - and Taiwan Tech’s Department of Industrial Management team to present consulting and expert advisory services. This forum not only demonstrated Taiwan Tech's proactive leadership in net-zero initiatives but also underscored the university's vital role as a driver of sustainable transformation.
