Taiwan Tech and Chroma Corporation have long been committed to promoting industry-academia collaboration and fostering technological innovation and talent development. To strengthen the integration of academic research with industrial applications, Taiwan Tech’s Industry-Academia Innovation College has partnered with Chroma Corporation to officially launch the 3rd “Chroma Paper Award”. This year’s award, organized by Taiwan Tech’s Industry-Academia Innovation College, invites graduate students, doctoral candidates, and recent graduates from domestic universities to participate, encouraging young scholars to transform academic research into practical applications and inject new momentum into Taiwan's technology industry.

To encourage outstanding paper submissions, the 3rd “Chroma Paper Award” offers special prizes (NT$200,000), excellent prizes (NT$100,000), and honorable mention prizes (NT$20,000) in two categories: “Power Electronics Technology” and “Semiconductor Testing Technology”. The total prize pool amounts to NT$1.5 million.

Compared to the previous two editions, which focused on precision machinery and measurement technology, the 3rd “Chroma Paper Award” expands its scope to address industry trends and technological development needs. This year’s call for papers is divided into two main categories: “Power Electronics Technology” and “Semiconductor Testing Technology”, covering eight key areas: power conversion, electric vehicle power systems, thermal management, semiconductor process defects, and critical dimension measurement, silicon photonics and high-frequency/high-speed digital chips, equipment smart operation, and maintenance, micro/nano-scale precision machinery measurement and control, and power component testing technology. The goal is to encourage students to actively engage in forward-looking technology research and explore innovative applications.

The launch ceremony for the 3rd “Chroma Paper Award” was held on March 21st and jointly hosted by Taiwan Tech President Jia-Yush Yen, Dean of the Industry-Academia Innovation College Huang-Jen Chiu, General Manager of Chroma Corporation’s Integrated Systems Division Yi-Shih Tseng, and Chairman of the Chroma Education Foundation Zheng Ying. The event symbolizes an important milestone in the collaboration between academia and industry to drive technological innovation.

The 3rd “Chroma Paper Award” will invite experts and scholars from around the world to form a judging panel. The selection process will consist of three stages: preliminary review, re-evaluation, and final judging. The finals are expected to be held in March 2026, accompanied by an award ceremony and banquet, offering winners an opportunity to network with industry elites.
