The 2023 East China District Alumni Association of Taiwan Tech was held grandly, with over a hundred alumni and teachers from various regions gathering together to join the event.
The corporate visit activity during this year's meeting showcased the achievements of alumni in the mainland China region. Alumni like Hong-He Huang from the Department of Electrical Engineering, who founded the Hongru Engineering Company, have been deeply involved in Kunshan for over 20 years. They specialize in high-quality cleanrooms and professional flooring services, offering comprehensive services for various industries setting up factories. In recent years, through the alumni service platform, they collaborated with Wen-Ning Yang, a construction engineering alumnus from Vietnam, extending their industrial reach to Vietnam. During the annual meeting, Yang shared information about the investment environment in Vietnam. This collaboration became the prime example of alumni economic cooperation. The visit also included a tour of LE TEMPLER LUXX department store owned by Shi-Hsuan Gu, an Architecture alumnus, situated in the Xintiandi Square of Shanghai. Gu has established nearly ten self-operated department stores and shoe galleries in mainland China, showcasing remarkable expertise in the retail management industry for fashion brands. The diligent efforts and outstanding performances of East China District alumni have earned great admiration and pride among the attendees.

Our university's East China District Alumni Association was established in the year 100 of the Republic of China. It was initiated by Ren-Xiang Lee (an alumnus of the Department of Industrial Management), the honorary chairman. Subsequently, under the continued efforts of Han-Ming Liao (alumnus of the Department of Industrial Management), Yan-Zhi Lin (alumnus of the Department of Architecture), Ming-Shan Lin (alumnus of the Department of Mechanical Engineering), Ji-Gang Xing (alumnus of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering), and Guan-De Wang (EMBA alumnus), the association has now become the largest overseas alumni association of our university, with four branches in Shanghai, Kunshan, Nanjing, and Suzhou. Besides actively organizing various activities to promote alumni exchanges and mutual assistance, the association has been wholeheartedly supporting the development of our alma mater. In the year 111 Republic of China, they donated 200,000 New Taiwan Dollars to support the “Hand in Hand Passing on Love - Excellent Indigenous Students” Scholarship Fund. Additionally, in this year's annual meeting, they donated another 100,000 New Taiwan Dollars for the “Development of Sports Activities Fund”. The alumni's commitment to giving back to their alma mater and their caring attitude toward younger students is truly admirable.
