In response to rapid industrial transformation and growing corporate demand for professionals who integrate advanced R&D expertise with management capabilities, Taiwan Tech established the Executive Master of Research and Development (EMRD) in-service master’s program. The curriculum combines theory and practice, covering core areas such as technology R&D, industrial strategy, innovation management, and interdisciplinary integration. It is designed to help experienced industry professionals further strengthen their decision-making abilities and strategic, forward-looking perspectives. Over the past decade, the program has nurtured outstanding alumni from diverse sectors, including technology, manufacturing, information and communications, and startups, gradually building a stable, close-knit, and influential alumni network.
At the 10th anniversary celebration, videos showcasing past events and the program’s development were presented, reflecting on key milestones in EMRD’s journey-from its early establishment and the progressive refinement of its curriculum to the formation of a strong alumni community-illustrating the program’s growth and the continuation of its founding spirit. The event was attended by Taiwan Tech Vice President Tzu-Chuan Chou, Secretary-General Yu-Lin Kuo, Dean of the College of Engineering Ming-Jyh Chern, along with EMRD Executive Directors Chin-Yang Yu and Yu-Cheng Chiu, and Deputy Executive Director Jung-Jen Huang, among other faculty members who have long been dedicated to EMRD’s teaching and development, all coming together to witness this important milestone in the program’s history.
