Students from the EMBA program at the College of Management, Taiwan Tech, continue their commitment to giving back to society and promoting public welfare. Led by Dean Yu-Chung Tsao, EMBA Executive Director Shih-Hao Lu, EMBA Student Association President Ying-Chao Hong, and other student leaders, they traveled to Hualien to donate one million NT dollars to the Mennonite Foundation. The donation will fund the purchase of 22 assistive devices, including wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs, to improve the living conditions of those with mobility challenges and disabled elderly. Part of the funds will also support establishing the Mennonite Taitung Social Welfare Foundation, further advancing long-term care services in the Hualien and Taitung regions.

This heartwarming fundraising campaign successfully raised 1 million NT dollars in a short period of time, which was used to purchase 22 assistive devices, including wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs. The funds also supported the establishment of the Mennonite Social Welfare Foundation in Taitung City, providing timely and compassionate assistance to elderly residents in remote areas. To express their gratitude, the Mennonite Foundation held a donation ceremony on November 6th, titled “Spreading Love, Empowering Care with Assistive Devices!” Feng Qin Liu, CEO of the Mennonite Foundation, thanked the Taiwan Tech EMBA Student Association for their generous donation, which has injected valuable resources into local long-term care services and plays a vital role in caring for elderly people in rural areas.

CEO Feng Qin Liu also expressed special thanks to Shu Fen Huang, Vice General Manager of Meta Age and an outstanding student of Taiwan Tech’s Graduate Institute of Management. Huang played a key role in the success of this event by leveraging her professional expertise and resources to drive the initiative forward.
In addition, Taiwan Tech EMBA faculty and students visited the Mennonite Foundation’s Assistive Device Bank, Meilun Day Care Center, and Transportation Service Center, where they experienced the rehabilitation bus service firsthand. EMBA Student Association President Ying-Chao Hong even tried using a wheelchair to simulate the daily challenges faced by individuals with mobility difficulties, gaining a deeper understanding of the long-term care needs in rural areas. Hong remarked that this hands-on experience helped everyone better appreciate the importance of long-term care services for elderly people in remote regions, strengthening his resolve to continue promoting public welfare initiatives.
Professor Yu-Chung Tsao, Dean of the College of Management, emphasized that public welfare is not only a concrete expression of love but also an important process of learning and growth. This event allowed students to give back to society through meaningful action, while also deepening their awareness and reflection on long-term care issues. Taiwan Tech’s College of Management will continue to encourage faculty and students to engage in various public welfare activities, using actions to care for society and spread love to those in need.
This fundraising campaign fully reflects Taiwan Tech students’ passion for public welfare and their sense of social responsibility, bringing tangible help and hope to long-term care services in rural areas. President Ying Chao Hong also pledged, “This love will continue to grow”. He stated that the Student Association will stay true to its mission, continue investing resources, and call on all sectors of society to pay attention to the needs of elderly and disadvantaged groups in rural areas, working together to create a more inclusive living environment.
Looking ahead, Taiwan Tech will continue to uphold the spirit of public welfare, combining education and practice to promote more social care initiatives, becoming a vital support for residents in remote areas, and allowing love and support to take root and flourish in every corner of Taiwan.
