This year, he has been honored with the National Excellent Teaching Award. He wrote the textbook “E-Commerce” in 1997 and updated it regularly every two years. It has sold a total of 200,000 copies, remains one of the most critical textbooks in higher education, and has a profound influence on promoting and advancing e-commerce education in Taiwan.

Professor Pin Luarn specializes in e-commerce, online marketing, artificial intelligence, and applications. He has published numerous highly-cited papers and received various awards for his research. He has mentored over 200 master’s and doctoral students, with at least 10 becoming university professors. Additionally, he has assisted numerous coaching companies in going public, including guiding and supervising Taiwan’s first listed e-commerce company, significantly advancing the institutionalization of the domestic internet and e-commerce industries.

Professor Pin Luarn has served as the Dean of the School of Management of Taiwan Tech, as well as an undergraduate advisor, handling a wide range of student counseling matters. He deeply understands that tutoring students requires a lot of effort and enthusiasm and said that the deans of all universities must be on call 24 hours a day and deserve everyone's respect and applause. Over nine years as EMBA Executive Director, he helped establish 14 exclusive EMBA clubs, led students to multiple national case competitions, and won multiple national championships.

Compared with teachers in primary and secondary schools who often have to deal with emergencies of individual students, Professor Pin Luarn notes that university faculty also deal with pressures from teaching, research, and industry-university collaboration. For young university teachers experiencing burnout, he advises adjusting one's mindset, focusing on areas of strength, and managing time effectively to maintain a positive outlook at all times.
