NTUST had visitors from Germany’s Alexander von Humboldt Foundation
Every year, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, founded in 1860, enables more than 2,000 researchers from all over the world to spend time researching in Germany. The receivers of the awards sponsored by the well-known foundation to further their research then became Humboldtians, or alumni of Humboldt. Recently, Dr. Enno Aufderheide, Humboldt’s Secretary General, and Dr. Klaus Muellen, winner of the 2012 Tsungming Tu-Humboldt Award, visited NTUST. They were accompanied by Dr. Pong Suang-Jing, director of NSC’s Office in Germany, Chang Yang-Chan, Secretary of NSC International Cooperation Division, and Prof. Liaw Der-Jang of NTUST Chemical Engineering Department.
At their first stop of the visit, President Chen Shi-Shuenn extended his welcome to the guest in his office. Then Vice President Lee San-Liang led the visitors to Taiwan Building Technology Center. The guests were impressed by the academic achievements of NTUST’s faculty and students in building technology. The guests were then entertained by Prof. Chi Chia-Fen of NTUST Office of International Affairs with briefing and exchange. Both sides expressed their interest in furthering cooperation projects.
